At a soul food restaurant in Harem.
You can see the famous red beans & rice to the right.Perhaps you've ever heard of it in Jazz music.And there you can see some pieces of chicken.
Thick yellow sauce is put on the rices.
There is a peice of corn bread with tomatoes to the left.
There is a stew of cabbages to the top.It was especially delicious.I guess the taste was from a lot of butter.
I hear the roots of soul foods are in old time Afro American home cooking,that is,old time meals of slaves.
Originally,they devised the leftovers of the Master so that they could eat deliciously.
There was a lot of stew cookings.I was surprised because they were so delicious when I had the soul foods for the first time 6 years ago.
Since then,I began to collect the recipes gradually. |
